About Pure Culture

Maisha has had a passion for the hair and beauty industry most of her life.  Her entrepreneurial spirit was apparent from a young age and she grew up intent on becoming a professional stylist.  She graduated from Miss Marty’s Beauty School in San Francisco while also competing in hair shows, performing as a model and coordinating fashion and hair shows, which are activities she continues to participate in today.  Some of her other experience includes filming for a MTV makeover based show in 2011and assisting performers with styling, wigs and extensions for the San Francisco performances of the Broadway musical “The Color Purple.” Maisha’s clients also include local radio and media personalities.

Since being licensed for more than eight years, she has mastered a wide range of hair techniques.  She specializes in all types of hair extensions, making custom hair pieces, smoothing treatments, coloring, color corrections, styling, cutting, special occasion hair dressing and make-up.

Before joining the team at the salon where she currently works, Maisha spent over ten years as a stylist at her family’s hair salon business under the guidance of her mother who had 27 years of experience and her grandmother who has over 50 years of professional hair experience.

Maisha’s special love for her mother is a consistent driving force in her work and she is continuously seeking new business opportunities in the field of hair care.  Always a fun-loving and professional stylist, Maisha’s main goal is to push the boundaries of traditional hair care and ultimately introduce her own mobile hair salon business in the Bay Area, a dream that she shared with her mother.
